Ode to Cats

Since I love cats sooooo much (my shop name Koyani means 'cat' in Korean, where I lived for a year recently) I decided to make a post of just cute cat items I have come across on Etsy. I actually did a search the other day on Etsy to see if there were any new items, and when I searched for "cat" and "cute" together, a surprising number of the items that came up were mine! I think I must gravitate to anything "feline" when shopping.
Recently at an estate sale, they were selling off a huge collection of white cats. I bought a few (see my shop) but for some reason, white cats just aren;t as cute to me! Perhaps its because I fostered a white cat in Korea that meowed CONSTANTLY!! He was like an alarm clock that wouldn't turn off.
Anyways, here are some cute ones, so enjoy! Get ready to "awwwwww..."

Often, while out and about searching for new merchandise for my Etsy shop (which I usually end up hoarding for myself) I come across cute figurines of prim and proper ladies in their 1950's best. Although I usually am able to overcome the temptation of keeping them myself, I still can't help but envy those who get to have a collection of such lovely figs. (They are just so wonderfully dressed!)^^
I came across this one on Etsy at southernladysvintage.etsy.com. I just love the colours of this one!

Vintage Greeting Cards

One of my favorite things to find at garage sales, flea markets and the like are vintage greeting cards. I've started to collect them and am currently thinking of how I can display them in a nice way without ruining them (perhaps framing?).
I recently came across a box load at a strange "flea market" where I live. It's in a basement of a really old building and it is VERY poorly lit. It has maybe one fluorescent bulb for the entire place- and to make matters worse, the bulb flickers, so there's definately a creepy horror movie-type vibe about the place (the scragly old owner that follows you around doesn't help either^^) Anyways, the last time I went I found a box of old greeting cards that I plan to put up on koyani when I can find the time. But until then, I thought I'd share a few super cute ones I found while browsing on Etsy.

Thank you candyconnection22, VintageNecessities, Alteredbits, PeriwinkleDzyns, pattispolkadots, Vintagegoodness, BooDillys and Vintagetea for the awesome greeting cards found in your Etsy shops!

My Sister's Etsy Shop

My sister, who is more focused and talented and creative than I'll ever be, has an etsy store that I'd thought I'd share: smilerecipe.etsy.com. It's kind of an offshoot of her website http://www.smile-recipe.net/ .

She has a great sense of what colours and designs go well together to produce one heck of a cute little number! Right now, her Etsy store mainly consists of pouches for your DS, Ipod, camera or cell.

I can only hope that one day my "cute" radar is as keen as hers!
